Entertainment in general has to do with
amusement, enjoyment, creativeness aimed at putting joy into the minds of the
audience. Music in particular is a lucrative business in far beyond, the number
of hidden talents i.e. (MC’s, DJ’s, Artists, Bloggers, Comedians, Producers and
host of those) in Northern Nigeria is of worry to experts in the Industry the
enterprise aspect of it, is absence. One keep on imagining what really is the
problem, here am going to put more light on the following: - (a) Artist Management (b) Promo/Blogging
(c) Funding/Billing (d) Strategist Plan (e) Career Choice.
Artist Management:
- This has to
do with the welfare of the artist in terms of show booking, promotion,
production, & advice. An artist is seen as a commercial product on sale working
tirelessly to meet up the market demand of his/her own community and far
beyond. Many artists out there have what
is takes to go far than their present stage. One keep wandering what is really
the problem related to this kind of talents but is classified into two (2): -
a) Poor Management
or
b) Lack of
Funds (Financial Issues)
Promo/Blogging:
- The solemn
believe here, is that artists prefer hosting Shows/Recording songs upon songs rather
than promoting their work (songs). Many are of the habit of putting blames on bloggers/promoters,
whenever there work (song) is not uploaded or simply when a blogger/promoter demand
for a fee, without considering the fact that the particular blogger need data
to keep his/her (blogs/websites) trending, need cash to upgrade software’s, fix
up his systems/phones when faulty etc. When a blogger/promoter ask of a little
fee it doesn’t mean he/she is in need of your cash but rather want a
partnership (collaboration) between you and him/her, on how to improve the
standard of work/suggest helpful ideas. Artists
most at times either been featured or even their songs personal they hardly
share/post and so on, it may seems nothing but believe me within a short while
the work will die off. What is the benefit of that dear artist???
Funding/Billing:
- Venturing
into the entertainment circle means “one’s ability (willingness) to share, sacrifice
& his/her readiness for the task ahead. Specifically music production (Audio/Video). Work
with producers/directors of high taste without considering the fee in which
they are charging or they charge you.
Strategist
Plan: -
An artist who is consistent on who he/she is doing, focuses basically on a
particular pattern (genre) of music. Artist without a strategist plan (goal)
will often focuses on transitional shift i.e. a Singer to Rapper or something
similar. When you’re into singing let it be your specialization, rapping or the
like of others. Is not all about recording songs often that will make you heard
(blow) but rather just a single track will change your story for good. A single
meaningful song is far better than many meaningless songs. Think wide and give
much time to your songs rather than been in a hush wanting to record,
Career
Choice: -
A talent should not been confused in making a choice, like I once said “the numbers
of Artists don they count total number of voters” on a broad sense, it simply
expresses the massive increase on artistic circle as talent is been replaced
with skill or influenced. Many ventured into entertain not because of the
talent but of the sole believe “am an artist ladies will follow or because my
friend is an artist let me also join the race”. My dear, friend is good to be
celebrated when it is your own call not answering someone’s own. Life is a
cyclical step depending on the interpretation given, so also is entertainment.
It won’t be of any help going into what is not your own call such will only be
a waste placing a limit in your own value. That charisma of yours will be a
determiner of the great potential in you, believe in yourself, built up
yourself and discover your dream, that’s the primary basic. As an artist you
should never allow a fellow to brain wash you that you’re a “whack or cheap artist”.
Don’t be influenced by character/material things, just be the real person you
are and focus on your discovered talent. Lastly, respect people you interact with
& hook up with people who are better or ahead of you. I wish you the very
