ADAMAWA: FAILURE OF LEADERSHIP IN ADAMAWA IS THE CAUSE OF THE PERSISTENT NUMAN CRISIS!

Let me begin by condoling with all those who were from both Bachama and Fulani as a result of the Numan crises. May the souls of the departed be blessed and the injured healed. Let me also register my disappointment on collapse of leadership in the gov't of Adamawa State, the result of which is the escalation of crisis in Numan.

Some few months ago, there was an attack on Kodomu village in Numan and many lives of Bachama people were lost. The State Government under Bindow Jibirilla set up a panel of enquiry that only collected allowances and fled. Failure to establish the cause, perpetrators and how to avert a reoccurrence of that particular incidence constituted 80% of the reasons for reprisal attacks that led to the death of almost 60 innocent Fulani women and children. Again failure to establish the cause, perpetrators and how to avert future occurrences of the incident exposed the incompetence of Bindow Jibirilla administration. The gov't in the same vein set up another Tea Party administrative panel to investigate the incidence.

Few days later, news filtered around as to the strong possibilities of reprisal attacks. Alarms raised fell on the deaf ears of the failed gov't of Bindow. At this point, the governor as Chief Security Officer of the State decided to play politics with the lives of his citizens. He convened a meeting with some political and unpatriotic leaders of Numan federation and whispered to them that the crisis clearly caused by collapse of his leadership was orchestrated by politicians from Abuja. To him, it was an opportunity to play politics of over 100 graves just to masquerade his gross incompetence. He went further to insinuate that some armed herdsmen were harbored in the farm of a former governor. No science is needed to indicate that he was referring to Fmr governor Murtala Nyako (sad).

Few days later, some few myopic fellows began spreading delusive whatsapp broadcast messages with the figmental tone. All those who shared the story plus the wicked allies of Bindow Jibirilla from Numan could not remind him that he is the Chief Security Officer of the State and any single live lost amount to a failure of his leadership. That was why he watched and listened in admiration when his Chief of Staff Abba Jimeta was preaching hate speech about a year ago in Numan. Now Numan and Demsa are boiling. Bindow has ruined the solid peace process initiated by Fmr governor Boni Haruna, sustained and consolidated by his predecessor retired V/Admrl Murtala Nyako.

Bindow has sadly chose politics above conscience and oath to protect his citizens. He has in failure chose to blackmail his benefactor for political reasons rather than consult him on how best to arrest the situation. About a year ago, we saw with admiration a successful peace process spearheaded by Mal. Nuhu Ribadu on the Plateau. Another remarkable peace process was natured to a success level by Senator Abdul'Aziz Murtala Nyako around Koh village and its environs in Girei Local Gov't. It healed wounds and averted reprisal attacks. I saw an outline of how he achieved it recently on his facebook page.

If Bindow Jibirilla cannot swallow a humble pie to seek the assistance of people with experience to save lives, he shouldn't mock the dead by using their graves to play politics. It is not the way to go. I call on the people of Numan federation which comprises of Majority Bwatiye and minority Hausa/Fulani to please give peace a chance. They must also identify and warn the Judases amongst them who chose politics over lives. The humanity that binds them together should be above the pettish issues that divides them.  They should set up a joint committee for Peace and Reconciliation based on mutual respect since the experience bankrupt government of Bindow has failed them.

Allah ya bamu zaman lafiya da abinda lafiyan zata ci.
