Numan Federation on a broad sense is the largest zone comprising over nine (9) Government
Areas Demsa, Numan, Jada, Ganye, Lamurde, Mayo-Belwa Shelleng, Toungo, and
Guyuk.
Our Focus will base on the Great Bwatiye Land, One of the oldest Traditional Council in Adamawa
State ranging to over three hundred & fourteen (314) years ago.
Firstly, I will start by clarifying the
controversial name “Bwatiye” many
believed that Bwatiye literally referred to the Bachama People only, thou on a
general note it consist of it brother linguistic groups; Batta, Bachama &
Mbula).
Personality Shift: - In this case, many are seen as voices of the generality
in the sense that, they stand firm on the side of the masses no matter efforts
made by the ruling class (Government).
Sometimes even the Government itself will be afraid of
those kind personalities in particular because of the high rate of resistance.
Is something to deeply think of, when those same people are given kitchen political
appointment ka
“hùtùk-hùtùk táná mná gÃbÃng” to the masses which was it
basic priority “ndìyá”
is replaced with otherwise.
I may not want to compare two uncommon things (the death
and the living),
Living a luxurious life is not a bad thing at all but community
focus should be the priority.
Secondly, Leadership focus is centered on the financial benefit
rather than “willingness to serve humanity” Joining politics is unusual as many
consider it; as a source of enrichment than community focus.
Leadership: - On a wide range is seen
as the ability to guide, direct, or influence people’s behavior either in a
Community, Society, State or Nation.
Self Want: - As many may call it “Selfishness”
Our leaders should know that they are out there for the
masses not for themselves or an avenue of enrichment; the youths are hungry for
empowerment, security, good representation & are tired of hearing stories
in the name of believing we have representatives at the Local, State &
Federal levels respectively, many places are proud of having representatives even
with the absence of empowerment the voices are often heard not silent under chaotic
situations. The lives & well been of this poor masses may seem less
important, because their sons, daughters, businesses & otherwise are unseen
by the masses which is of benefit to elsewhere. Indeed, you may not be affected directed
because nothing about you is affected.
Thirdly, Occupation
& Challenges; the unique Negro cultural
group “Bwatiye” are known for their
bravery mostly Security Personnel’s, Hunters,
Farmers, Businessmen & Women, Civil Servants, & Few into politics. One
don’t want to believe the first Deputy Governor is from the Federation, due to
it backwardness in terms of infrastructural development (facilities) I can attest
that some major economic roads has not experience any form of reconstruction
nor expansion since its creation. A question that always comes to minds of the
People; “Do Government Really Exist or
just a Follow Up”?
Our people killed, houses burnt down, live stocks stolen,
some arrested & many are not even to be found but no one is talking about the
unimaginable situation faced by the people. If not for the sake of God using
some spirited hearts to stand firm for the common masses, no one can tell about
it only to hear a history.
Our youths have to work harder to meet up with self needs
no form of help coming from above i.e. scholarship,
empowerment, transportation, communication and host of others.
In the entire Lamurde local government only a single
functioning network mask is there, which is been shared among two (2) networks
(Mtn & Etisalat as formerly
known) which often experience regular fluctuations’. Agricultural products recorded annually can
feed the entire Northeast and even beyond, with numerous villages like Gyawana,
Wakudu, Mbemun, Hoki, Rigange, Zekun, Tingno, Kwah, Bolki among others. Not to
even mention of tourism areas i.e. Water Spring, Mountainous areas, Rivers, Kwete
Festival, & other Festive Events. The neglect of this zone may seem irrelevant
but the potentialities made available by nature to this people cannot be overemphasized.
